Events, innovation and environmental grants are open

What you need to know about our latest round.

Applications for our winter grants are now open, supporting projects that start from 1 January 2024.

Festival and event sponsorships, green building, innovation and ideas, and other opportunities are available. Apply to activate events, programs and projects that will build the social, cultural, environmental and economic life of our city.

You’ll find key information below and can join our webinar for an overview.

The deadline for applications is 5pm Tuesday 22 August.

Green building grant

What the grant covers: Financial support to undertake environmental ratings, certifications, audits and assessments for existing buildings to be resource efficient and achieve net zero emissions by 2035.

How much can you apply for: Up to $15,000 per project.

Who can apply: Building owners in the residential and accommodation sector. Not-for-profits, for profits, owners corporations. For works on residential strata or accommodation buildings only.

Festivals and events sponsorship

What the grant covers: Financial support for local festivals and events that celebrate, develop, and engage our communities.

How much can you apply for: Up to $50,000 per year, for a 1 year program or multi-year funding.

Who can apply: Not-for-profits, for profits, sole traders, individuals or unincorporated community groups supported by a not-for-profit or for profit that is eligible to apply.

Innovation and ideas grants

What the grant covers: Financial support for projects that foster innovation, showcase local expertise and test new ideas to address local and global issues across our area’s social, cultural, sustainability and business sectors.

How much can you apply for: From $10,000 to $50,000 per year, for a one-year program or multi-year funding.

Who can apply: Not-for-profit and for-profit organisations.

The following grants are open all year until the budget is exhausted:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collaboration fund

What the grant covers: Financial support to help the community-controlled sector meet the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the local area.

How much can you apply for: Up to $50,000.

Who can apply: Not-for-profits, for profits, sole traders, individuals or unincorporated community groups supported by a not-for-profit or for profit organisation.

Individuals and sole traders must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, groups must consist of majority Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander members and organisations must have a governing body that is majority Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Quick response grant

What the grant covers: Financial support for small scale, community-led projects that encourage communities to improve, enhance, represent or celebrate their local neighbourhoods.

How much can you apply for: Up to $10,000

Who can apply: Not-for-profit organisations, individuals or unincorporated community groups supported by a not-for-profit that is eligible to apply.

  • Ensure your project is in our local area or provides significant benefit to our residents and businesses.
  • Read the critical information for your chosen program including the grants and sponsorship guidelines.
  • Make sure your project is eligible under the program you're applying for. There are strict guidelines around who can apply and when projects can occur.
