Planning for the future

Don’t miss CityTalks: Big ideas transforming global cities

Our upcoming CityTalks will focus on bold ideas and outstanding examples of good governance, leadership, advocacy and citizen engagement in global cities.

Speakers will present case studies from Seoul, New York, Adelaide and Sydney.

In a CityTalks first, our keynote speaker, Mayor Park Won Soon of Seoul, will present his keynote address and participate in a panel discussion thanks to 3D technology, direct from Seoul.

Mayor Park has pioneered bold, people-focused projects such as Seoullo 7017, which reclaimed a former 1970s highway overpass and turned it into a 1km long green space and public skygarden.

We’ll also be joined by:

  • former premier of South Australia, the Honourable Jay Weatherill, who drove the world’s biggest lithium-ion battery project at Hornsdale Power Reserve
  • Henriette Vamberg, partner and managing director Copenhagen leads the work focused on city transformations at Gehl. Henriette was involved in the Times Square project to promote quality of life and liveability in New York through recommendations, design guidelines and implementation
  • Steven Satour of the City of Sydney’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Panel. Steven has played a significant role in the Eora Journey project which celebrates the living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
