We know you’ve been enjoying our parklands and playgrounds recently, so check out some of the spaces we’ve revamped.
Several of our playgrounds have been transformed into more modern and vibrant play areas as part of 60 small park and playground upgrades.
You can enjoy new play equipment at Ernest Peterson Reserve Playground which is our most recent playground to get a facelift. It includes a sandstone balance wall, stepping stones, logs and bark mulch softfall.
Daniel Dawson Reserve in Alexandria opened earlier this year after a major playground upgrade including a triple swing set, climbing mound, embankment slide and climbing net.
A new shade structure, playground fence, sitting wall, picnic tables and seating are also there for use once restrictions ease.
Take a stroll down the wider footpath at James Hilder Reserve in Surry Hills while admiring the new trees and plants.
Don’t lose your balance on the new balance beam or steppers and make use of the new fitness station with upper and lower body equipment, in line with current restrictions.
And enjoy the new play equipment which has a triple swing set and play structure with slides and see-saw.
Other playgrounds in our area that have been upgraded include:
- Strickland Park in Chippendale
- Hollis Park Playground in Newtown
- Beaconsfield Playground
Upgrades vary in each project, but parents and carers can unwind while children explore all the wonderful new features.
Work on several other playgrounds in our area will soon begin.
