There are more creative workers in Greater Sydney than anywhere else in Australia.
While they’re essential to our economy and way of life, their livelihoods are at risk. We know things can change quickly for our creative workforce and this survey will help us monitor the sector’s wellbeing and develop our response.
By surveying the sector each year, we intend to unpack key challenges it faces and get a sense of changes over time. This includes access to space, funding and networks to make creative work. We’ll do this by:
- identifying the composition and distribution of our creative workforce
- understanding the costs of using and operating creative spaces
- gauging the confidence or precarity our creative communities are feeling for the year ahead
- monitoring the effectiveness of our support.
We’ll use the information from both surveys to ensure our direct support for creative work is targeted. It will also be used in our advocacy work with partners in areas such as affordable housing and workspaces for the creative industry.
Both surveys close at 5pm on Wednesday 28 May.
If you’re an individual artist that uses space, complete our creative workers survey.
Sole traders, businesses or organisations operating in a space for creative work over the past 12 months can complete our creative spaces survey.
