Customs House forecourt transforms into a skate park for DEMO

DEMO is a raw blend of skating, parkour, dance and BMX. It's a fast-paced art performance unlike anything seen before.

DEMO by Branch Nebula

We’re bringing a brand new work by one of Australia’s most adventurous performance companies, Branch Nebula, to the city streets as part of our Art & About program.

Come witness performers rocket through the air among a series of purpose-built ramps. It’s textural, hypnotic and utterly thrilling.

DEMO by Branch Nebula uses custom-built vertical and horizontal planes that come together to create a 3D performance space.

Lee Wilson, co-director at Branch Nebula, said DEMO is for people who want to experience the virtuosity of street-styles in a raw and risky, yet tightly choreographed way.

“People will think they’re just going to watch a show with skating, but what they’ll see is a live art work.

“Our work is always trying to counter the image of street styles as sport and present them as highly creative.

"DEMO challenges the city and what the city can be, as a pedestrian, a space that you walk through," Lee said.

Performances of DEMO will take place at 6.30pm on Wednesday 30 October and twice daily at 4pm and 6.30pm on Thursday 31 October, Friday 1, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November.
