If you have good-quality furniture you no longer need, there are plenty of ways to get rid of it. You can book a bulky pick-up with us, try selling your item online or donate to a local charity.
But here’s the catch: most furniture collected from booked pick-ups gets crushed in our trucks and can't be reused. Selling online takes time and finding a local charity that needs your item isn’t always easy.
That’s where our reuse trial for household furniture comes in. With a little extra effort, you can make a big impact – helping local families in need and keeping furniture out of landfill.
If you’ve got desks, chairs, tables, TV units or other pieces in good condition, consider donating them in our reuse trial. We’ll match your furniture with charities in need, ensuring it finds the right home.
How to donate
- Submit furniture photos and measurements online by Wednesday 19 February.
- Our team and charities will check for quality.
- You’ll receive an email confirming if your item has been accepted.
- Drop it off at Recycle It Saturday on 22 February, 9am to 3pm, at Alexandra Canal Depot.
