Planning for the future

Help us shape the future of Oxford Street

We're reviewing planning rules for Oxford Street and surrounds.

From a sacred walking track of the Gadigal people to the parade ground of the annual Mardi Gras, Oxford Street has a rich and varied history.

Loved by locals and visitors alike, Oxford Street remains one of Sydney's iconic destinations.

We want to breathe new life into the area and ensure our planning rules continue to support cultural, creative and late-night activities.

Explore Oxford Street with us by taking our self-guided walking tour on your mobile phone.

Let us know what you love about the special places and venues along Oxford Street, or let us know what improvements could be made.

You can also complete our online survey or write a love letter to Oxford Street. Online feedback closes on 3 November 2020.

We will also hold workshops and meetings with residents, landowners, businesses and other interested groups later this year.

Your feedback will help us prepare new planning rules which will be put on public exhibition next year.
