Despite a very wet season, players chalked up runs on the board on 2 new synthetic cricket pitches at Wentworth Park in Glebe.
We’ve also upgraded the practice wickets with new nets and surfaces, and room for extended runups for local fast bowlers.
Spectators enjoyed the new picnic tables nearby.
We’ll spruce up cricket facilities at Alan Davidson Oval, Sydney Park in Alexandria later this year.
The 3 synthetic practice wickets will be resurfaced and fencing around the near 20-year-old practice nets will be replaced and extended.
We’ll add dividers in the turf wicket training space to keep surfaces in better condition and connect power to the area. This will let teams use electronic bowling machines.
New sight screens for cricketers at Jubilee Oval in Glebe are also planned for 2022.
