It’s a simple concept: create clothes made to last, keep them in circulation for as long as possible and once they’re done, remake them into something new.
Circular fashion labels are on the rise with the support of Seamless, a new initiative working to change how Australia makes clothes.
These Sydney brands are leading the way – their nurturing hands keeping precious fibres out of landfill.
High Tea with Mrs Woo
When you’re seeking slow fashion and Australian made, you’ll undoubtedly discover the creative sisters behind this design label.
From their boutique on Oxford Street, Paddington, Rowena, Juliana and Angela Foong present made-to-order and small batch collections in natural fabrics – ensuring every piece lasts.
“We run a second-hand marketplace for pre-loved Mrs Woo clothes and teach kintsugi for clothing to extend the life of garments by visible mending with gold threads,” Rowena said.
“Our next project is to create zero-waste whole garment knitwear using yarn made from post-production textile waste, thanks to a grant from the City of Sydney.”

Citizen Wolf
For the founders of Citizen Wolf, circular fashion is the blueprint of their brand, which they hope the industry will follow.
Known for custom made to fit, ethically made T-shirts, their business model eliminates overproduction.
“One-third of all clothing made every year ends up in landfill unsold – it’s insane, it’s immoral and it’s choking our planet,” cofounder Zoltan Csaki said.
“We only make what we sell and we recycle your old clothes into new fabric, from which we make new clothes. If your clothes are not made to order, they are simply not sustainable.”
