Missenden Road upgrade

Improving safety for people who walk

Upgrades to Missenden Road in Newtown will improve safety for people who walk.
Missenden Road upgrade

People commuting and accessing local health care and education facilities will have a safer journey thanks to upgrades on Missenden Road in Camperdown.

The City of Sydney has created more space for walking and safer connections to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, the University of Sydney and King Street.

The works included:

  • an extended footpath and new pavers
  • new garden beds
  • signalled traffic intersections at Carillion Avenue and Salisbury Road
  • road resurfacing and line marking with bike lanes
  • better street furniture with new bins, seating, bus shelters and a water bubbler.

Improvements to telecommunication service pits will complete the project.
