New park at The Crescent

A skate space and a fully refurbished and inclusive playground are part of plans for an inner west park.

Detailed plans have been released for the new park along The Crescent in Annandale. Around 8,500 square metres of new open space will be created and added to Johnstons Creek parklands.

The new space will improve the visual and physical connections of Annandale to the existing parklands along the Glebe foreshore.

The 5 northernmost archways under the heritage-listed light rail viaduct will be opened up to connect the new and existing parklands on both sides.

The project will include:

  • a new large open grass area for play and junior sports
  • a new skate space
  • a fully refurbished and larger playground with a focus on play for children with disability
  • new seating and expanded barbecue areas.

Construction is scheduled to start in mid-2019.
