More Christmas concerts than ever before will spread the joy of the festive season across Sydney’s villages this year.

The City’s village Christmas concerts program has expanded to include six concerts across the local area, with the addition of a new concert in Pirrama Park, Pyrmont.

Two courtesy buses will run continuously throughout the night between Camperdown, Glebe and Ultimo, to allow more locals from extended communities to attend the Pyrmont village concert.

The City’s free village concerts take place in some of Sydney’s best-loved parks and offer a night of live entertainment, carols, kids’ activities and tasty food.

Santa showbags jam-packed with goodies will also be on sale for $5, with all proceeds going to the City’s charity partner, Surf Life Saving NSW.

Each of the concerts will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and include activities, games, food trucks, a visit from Santa and a glittering fireworks finale.

“Some of our most beautiful parks will come to life as families and friends get together to enjoy the festivities and soak up Sydney’s warm summer nights,” Lord Mayor Clover Moore said.

“The City’s village concerts are a fantastic opportunity for the whole community to celebrate and I encourage everyone to come along and get in the Christmas spirit.

“We have responded to calls from our communities in the western part of the City and will this year hold a village Christmas concert in Pirrama Park, with a concert to be held next year in Harold Park. Light rail is a good connector for communities in Pyrmont/Ultimo and Glebe/Forest Lodge.

“Merry Christmas!”
