Dance away the Autumn school holidays

Published 31 March 2016

Dance workshops, cooking classes, snorkelling and jewellery design are some of the many activities on offer throughout the autumn school holiday program.

Youngsters can also fine-tune their efforts to keep-up with the latest dance craze in free tutting workshops with acclaimed contemporary dance outfit Shaun Parker and Company.

The program from 11–22 April offers events and excursions tailor-made for all ages.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore said the City’s community centres, libraries and children’s services had developed a diverse program to keep the little ones entertained and teenagers engaged during the holidays.

“The City has put together a fun-filled, low-cost program that will keep the kids active and busy these school holidays,” the Lord Mayor said.

“While the vacation care programs for children aged 5–12 are terrific for working parents, our young adults have also been looked after with a variety of free and low cost activities.”

Activities for the 13–18 age group include ice-skating, beach visits, snorkelling, jewellery design classes and trips to the cinema. The younger ones, aged 5–12, can enjoy dance workshops, pottery, drawing and sculpture classes.
