Fun celebrations for Sydney’s younger residents

Published 29 March 2016

Shooting hoops, futsal competitions, DJ workshops and a film competition and screening are just some of the activities for young Sydneysiders at next month’s Youth Week festival.

The City of Sydney’s 10-day festival features a program of events designed by young people, for young people, throughout the city from 8-17 April.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore said Youth Week is a hugely popular event that enables young people to come together and celebrate their important role in the community.

“Youth Week provides an opportunity for the whole community to come together to recognise the work, talents and creativity of our younger residents,” the Lord Mayor said.

“Young people in Sydney contribute a positive energy and vitality that helps make our city such an exciting place to live, study and work.

“I encourage everyone aged 12 to 25 in our community to embrace this spirit as we celebrate Youth Week, and hope our young people get involved in the many fantastic events around the city.”
