The hugely popular Sydney Streets event series is returning in summer and autumn to some of the busiest village high streets.
Parts of Potts Point, Surry Hills, Glebe, Redfern, Pyrmont and Darlinghurst will each be closed to traffic for a day and transformed into zones with live music, games, offers and entertainment for the whole family.
Local businesses and organisations will host various in-store and pop-up attractions from fresh food offerings and giveaways to alfresco dining, competitions and classes.
Musicians, dancers, child-friendly entertainers and small stages with live entertainment will keep the vibe going into the evening.
“Our Sydney Streets series has been a real game-changer in bringing some of our high streets to life since the pandemic,” Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore AO said.
“Last year we hosted 16 events, and since we kicked off the series in 2022, we’ve organised almost 30 editions.
“Given the series is growing in popularity each year with businesses and locals, we plan to keep transforming village high streets into spaces for performances, shopping and dining.”
The Sydney Streets series will take place on:
- Saturday 17 February – Potts Point – Macleay Street, between Greenknowe and Roslyn streets
- Saturday 24 February – Darlinghurst – Stanley Street, between Yurong and Crown streets
- Saturday 9 March – Glebe – Glebe Point Road, between Parramatta and St Johns roads
- Saturday 16 March – Redfern – Redfern Street, between Regent and Chalmers streets
- Saturday 23 March – Pyrmont – Harris Street, between Pyrmont Bridge Road and Union Street
- Saturday 6 April – Surry Hills – Crown Street, between Cleveland and Foveaux streets.
