In pictures: Summer Streets welcomed people to eat, shop and play

We stopped traffic in our neighbourhoods for everyone to dine, drink and celebrate outdoors.

  • Strolling, reclining and lapping up the atmosphere on Macleay Street

    Potts Point was the first of 6 of our local areas to undergo a Summer Streets transformation. Streets were closed to traffic for a day of alfresco dining and drinking, entertainment and special offers.

  • Upping the glam in Surry Hills

    Sydney Drag Royalty and the Mirror Bulls brought some glam to fabulous Crown Street. Across all Summer Streets events, roving performers and entertainers helped bring the streets to life, with a lineup including drag queens, jazz bands and fire dancers.

  • Glebe turns on a relaxed vibe

    Moody skies couldn’t keep Sydneysiders away for a stroll down high street favourite, Glebe Point Road.

  • Vets On Crown takes pet talks and a doggie competition to Surry Hills

    Our streets played host to everything from free painting workshops with Paint & Sip Studios in Glebe and wine tastings at Porters Liquor in Pyrmont, to a clothes swap market at 107 Projects in Redfern. At Vets on Crown, a Waggiest Tail competition catered for our 4-legged visitors.

  • Bubble popping in buzzing Redfern

    Giant bubbles, roaming frill neck lizards, fire performers and LED dancers added to the fun for everyone on Redfern Street.

    A record number of people turned out for blue skies at Crown Street Summer Streets, eating, shopping and socialising the afternoon away.
