The City of Sydney supports the state government’s Oxford Street east cycleway project which is open for feedback.
Even without a dedicated cycleway, Oxford Street is one of the busiest routes for people riding in our area, but has the highest number of cycling-related crashes. Making Oxford Street safe will enable many more people to feel comfortable to ride between the eastern suburbs and the city.
You can provide your feedback on the project by visiting Transport for NSW’s consultation page until 7 August.
The City of Sydney is about to begin construction on the Oxford Street west project between Taylor Square and Castlereagh Street.
Our project will also calm traffic and create a nicer environment for people using the bustling footpaths and visiting local businesses on Oxford Street.
