How you can help
We ask residents to take extra care when using your rubbish and recycling bins, especially if you share a bin, and remember to wash your hands before and after using your bins.
As always, it’s important to reduce the amount of rubbish we throw away. Remember to think before you bin it and ask yourself if it can be first reused or repurposed.
If that's not possible, please put items in the correct bin, recycling as much as possible.
If you're not sure which bin to use, check our website. If you are part of the food scraps recycling trial, put your food scraps in the maroon lid bin.
Many of us may be decluttering while we spend more time at home. If you do, remember all City of Sydney residents have access to a free weekly pick-up for furniture, mattresses, whitegoods, e-waste and large garden organics. We recycle these items as much as possible.
Booking a pick-up is easy and essential. If you live in an apartment, contact your building manager to make a booking.
