Emergencies are almost impossible to predict.

You can recover faster from a disaster if you’re prepared.

It can be daunting to know where to start.

To make it easier for you, we highly recommend you:

1. Download the free Get Prepared app by Australian Red Cross

The app builds on many years of work done by the Red Cross to help prepare you physically and psychologically for disaster. It's brilliant at taking us through things we often don’t think about. It walks you through:

  • finding your emergency contacts
  • preparing your grab and go survival kit
  • saving important documents.

2. Work through your plan and share it

Establish a network of support with 3 key contacts. Share your plan with the people you know and can ask for help in an emergency.

An emergency RediPlan for your household should identify all members of your household, including pets. It makes note of essential information, like ongoing medical issues or crucial identifiers which may be necessary in an emergency.
