Promote your events on What’s On

Share your listings on our official events guide for free marketing support.

If you’re organising an event, sharing it on What’s On is a great way to spread the word and get more people to attend.

What’s On is our official event guide. Whether you want to find where to take the kids this weekend, free events on next week or everything happening in Glebe, it’s a comprehensive guide of things to do in Sydney. There are over 200,000 page views and 200 new event listings each month with ways to search.

It’s free to use and uploading an event takes just a few minutes. We check each event meets our submission guidelines before publishing it.

What’s On covers a geographical area spanning around 7.5km from the city centre. Online events can also be listed.

You may be familiar with our weekly e-newsletter. It’s sent to over 30,000 subscribers. By sharing your event to What’s On, there’s a chance to have your event included in these emails too.

Top tips for your event listing

  • Browse the site to get a feel for what works
  • Use a great photo for the hero image
  • Write a clear, concise event description

As our city reopens, we’re welcoming people back and support in-person events. What’s On will be extensively featured in a number of campaigns over the coming months. If your event falls into any of these areas, we encourage you to upload it soon so that you can be featured.

If you're accepting Dine & Discover vouchers for your event, remember to use the Dine & Discover tag so people can find your event.

City centre revitalisation

The recent lockdown was a huge challenge for people in Sydney, particularly businesses in the city centre.

As part of our work to revitalise the city and give it the extra support it needs, we’re running a marketing campaign to encourage people back in to see, eat, drink, shop and dwell.

If you’re organising an event in the city, we’d love to feature it on our program page.

Simply share your events to What’s On and select the ‘Things to do in the city centre’ program during the submission process.

Read the full instructions about how to get your event featured in the city centre revitalisation campaign.
