AusMusic T-Shirt Day

AusMusic T-Shirt Day celebrates Australian music while raising funds and awareness for musicians and music industry workers experiencing hardship.

The City of Sydney supports the cause by encouraging staff to wear their favourite AusMusic t-shirt and make a donation to the charity Support Act.

Support Act provides financial help, advice and practical assistance to artists, roadies and music industry workers. Assistance is offered for people doing it tough due to illness, mental health, injury or another crisis that has impacted their ability to work.

2020 has been especially difficult with venues closed and gigs cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A study by Victoria University reported that musicians are 5 times more likely to suffer from depression and 10 times more likely to show symptoms of anxiety. Another survey of almost 3,000 music industry workers found that suicide attempts were more than double that of the general population.

If you love Australian music and care for the people who help create it, show your support, make a donation and wear your favourite AusMusic t-shirt.

AusMusic T-Shirt Day is on Friday 20 November.
