American Express delicious. Month Out celebrates the diversity of Sydney’s dining scene, showcasing the popular restaurant and bar precincts of Surry Hills, Potts Point and the city centre.
Mary’s Underground is one of the many restaurants involved in the event that features more than 205 retail activations and free pop-up events. Mary’s group co-founder Jake Smyth takes a quick break from the kitchen to encourage Sydneysiders to get off the couch.
Q: Why did Mary’s Group decide to get on board with the Delicious Month Out initiative?
We enthusiastically support any plan that aims to put bums on seats and feet on the streets of our glorious city. Off the couch, getting out and into a show is where we want you.
Q: Why do you think it’s important to showcase Sydney’s local restaurants and bars?
Sydney is one of the most delicious cities on the planet.
Our bars and restaurants are absolutely world class – reminding ourselves of that fact is always important.
Q: What would you like to see come out of this promotion for Mary’s and other local restaurants?
I want to see people fall back in love with their city. There is so much to love, and we take it for granted far too easily.
Get out of your house, walk the streets, make friends with the bartender and go have a look at the harbour bridge at night – falling in love with that ain’t hard.
As part of the festival, there will be 3 pop-up hubs located in the city centre, Potts Point and Surry Hills with free entertainment, drinks and gourmet offerings:
City centre – Pitt Street, Thursday 5 March, 4pm to 7pm
Surry Hills – Collins Street, Thursday 12 March, 4pm to 7pm
Potts Point – Fitzroy Gardens, Thursday 19 March, 4pm to 7pm
Events and promotions throughout March include guided walking tours, complimentary cocktails and one-off dining specials. See all the details and book your spot.
