Each September creative minds from across the city join forces to curate a diverse and dynamic performance festival encompassing genres such as comedy, music, theatre and visual arts.

The spring event series kicks off in Redfern and Haymarket with plenty of activity and community celebrations. Businesses will bring their best – expect festival vibes along the street with plenty of live music, entertainers and alfresco dining.

With the theme of Voices from the Past, this year’s innovative program features public talks and lectures, heritage walks and interactive workshops.

Find a handmade gem at the Makers and Shakers Market
This 2 day event is a celebration of local artisans and their exceptional handcrafted products, from homewares to sustainable fashion and delicious food and drinks. With 130 stalls of top-of-their-craft makers, you're sure to discover one-of-a-kind finds.

Take part in R U Ok? Day
Connect with others and acknowledge the importance of mental health. Attend chair yoga at Ron Williams Community Centre, a sound bath meditation at Juanita Nielsen Community Centre or Bingo at Ultimo Community Centre. Relax and have fun with dodgeball at King George V Recreation Centre, a pancake morning tea at Cliff Noble Community Centre or a Zentangle workshop at St Helen’s Community Centre.

Led by Jonathan Jones, a renowned Wiradyuri/Kamilaroi artist and researcher, this talk seeks to draw out living cultural knowledge and how communities today maintain them in areas that are important to us, including living sites, language, the sky, plants and objects.

There's over 100 different programs and activities to explore at our community centres. From creative workshops like drawing and acting to yoga and exercise classes, dance, sport competitions and special events, there's something for every age and interest.
