There’ll be no dancing on your own when Sydney shows the world how it’s done at the 8th WorldPride.
With tens of thousands of people feeling the love, ours will be the first city in the southern hemisphere to host the event.
The event coincides with the 45th anniversary of the first Mardi Gras Parade and the 50th anniversary of the first Australian Gay Pride Week.
WorldPride 2023 will include a curated program to accompany the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras arts and cultural festival. The program includes a human rights and health conference focused on LGBTIQ rights with guest speakers and workshops.
With most events set in the city area, local hospitality, tourism and retail businesses are also set to benefit from the celebrations.
The City of Sydney will sponsor the event with $100,000 and a further $150,000 pending confirmation from the state government.
