Family-friendly events: free fun for the whole tribe
Light the City – 21 September
For 1 night only, experience Sydney’s spectacular harbour at an illuminated car-free party on Mrs Macquaries Road.
There are stunning light installations to explore by bike or by foot. Get your groove on at the silent disco or boogie with our robot dance troupe.
Enjoy a picnic under the trees with gourmet food trucks. If you don’t have a bike, you can hire one on the night.

The Big Adventure – 9 November
A full-day of adventurous fun at Sydney Park. This event is a must-do for active kids and families.
Get in on the action with mountain boarding, parkour, rock climbing and bike yoga. Watch jaw-dropping stunts by pro BMX riders, or pack a picnic blanket and tuck in to a food truck feast.

Twilight harbourside picnic ride – 19 October
A pedal and picnic dinner by the harbour. Join a relaxed cruise from the Glebe foreshore to Barangaroo along separated cycleways and shared paths. Don’t forget your picnic rug.
Free events: don’t spend a cent
Sydney Rides Photo Exhibition – 1-31 October
A garden gallery of 30 photos capturing the essence of bike riding in Sydney. These great shots have been handpicked by our panel of judges. The exhibition runs throughout October at Paddington Reservoir Gardens.
Pussy Cat Pedal – 10 November
One for the cat crew. Join experienced guides for three hours on Sydney’s cycleways and backstreets. You’ll see a side of Sydney you never knew existed on this feline-themed exploration.
No bike, no problem: Bike-free events
Big Bike film festival – 25 and 26 September
Grab a choc-top and settle in at the Ritz Cinema, Randwick. Enjoy an evening of the best bike-themed short films from around the world. Expect action, drama, inspiration and plenty of humour. There are 2 screenings and bookings are a must.
Try-a-bike – 2, 9 and 16 October
Don’t have a bike but want to give it a try? Or looking for a fun lunchtime outing with your workmates? There are 3, free try-a-bike events across the city in October at south Eveleigh, The Domain and Darling Square. The first 200 riders to each event will even get a free lunch.
