Sydney's Pride Month brings a celebration around this year’s theme of Compassion and Courage from June 1 to June 30. Whether you're looking to enjoy performances, support local businesses or get involved in community events, there’s something for everyone. Here’s a round-up of our picks all things Pride.

Qtopia Sydney Pride Fest

An entire month of dazzling performances and moving stories. Pride Fest features cabaret, drag, theatre, insights on activism and more. Local and interstate artists come together to celebrate not only LGBTQIA+ stories, but the storytellers themselves, including The Mini Marilyn for all the cabaret aficionados, theatre-goers who love a big dance number or shyer toe-tapping audiences.

Pride Shopping Day

Enjoy special discounts at participating businesses when you mention ‘Pride’. Expect a festive atmosphere with extra stalls, rainbow decorations and a sense of community. Support local businesses and celebrate Pride with a bit of retail therapy.

Stonewall presents Pride Social

The iconic Sydney venue, Stonewall Hotel, will host a variety of fun events. Don’t miss spinning the Pride Wheel during Happy Hour on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays for a chance to win fantastic prizes. Pick a Purse with Felicity on Fridays from 7pm to 9pm, with exciting prizes from local businesses (think raffle meat trays - only more rainbow). They're also host a Riot 69 Dance party on 29 June to celebrate the history of the Stonewall riots.

Personal politics: 50 years of queer activism in Australia

Join the conversation between some of the leading historians of gender and sexuality in Australia about what we can learn by critically examining the history of LGBTIQA+ activism in Australia. This talk brings together the voices and campaigns of a diverse set of activists who employed ideas about gender and sexuality to remake modern Australia.
